vlog hosting and content sites

Please add your favorites as comments and I'll list 'em.

http://www.youtube.com Has tons of content, and you can setup an account and host and share your vlogs there. No sign of feeds or RSS, but I'll look closer when I'm not at work .

Say, does anybody know if I can host a vlog somewhere, then create an XML file that points to it so I can serve it from the vlog host? I think this would only work for the single file, rather than creating a subscription for multiple vodcasts, but it could be very useful.

Got vodcast? - Sites to find vodcasts and vlogs

Here's an interesting example of a blog with VODs on it. Is anyone saying vlog? I know I've seen it somewhere. http://islandease.blogspot.com/

Add your favorite video sites and vodcast feeds in comments. I'll be doing a full post on vodcast sites very soon.

Yes there is a difference between a vlog (video blog) and a vodcast (Video on Demand webcast), but for right now I'm just going to include interesting sites of both kinds. I'll refine it later.

For now, check these out:
http://www.vodcast.nl/ - Possibly the first, and may have coined the term VODCast.
They also have info on how to subscribe to vodcasts and now to create them.

How to VODCast - Video on Demand Webcasting

This will be the place to come to learn how to VODCast, to learn how to find, watch, and share VODCasts, and anything else to do with VODCasting.

How to Create a VODcast
For right now, if you want to create and distribute a VODCast, there is a good How-To post on playlist at: http://playlistmag.com/features/2005/07/howtovodcast/index.php
If you're going to try it, be sure to read the comments. One in particular (by Rabiddogma) caught my eye about the H.264 format not being able to be played back except by Quicktime7.

Another How To vodcast article is at: http://www.vodcast.nl/howto.html
Does anyone know another set of tools we can use? Add your comments and I'll pull them together into a full How-To posting.

Another How To at: http://freevlog.org

I invite others who have an interest, curiosity, or expertise (c'mon geeks!) to contribute comments and articles. If we get a community going I will upgrade/move this blog to a multi-contributer format. For now as people add stuff I'll update entries and/or create new summary guides.
